papercutting Archives

A day in the life of a craft business

Although I’ve worked steadily today, I haven’t actually made any immediate cash. Welcome to the life of a craft business owner!

One of these papercuts is hand-cut, and the other is a lasercut. Which is which? How can you tell?

In 2022 I started a new hobby: marquetry

So far this year I’ve been experimenting more with making automata and mechanical toys. Here is a seagull automaton kit from Rob Ives’ website.

Papercutting project. I’m not keen on the overall design, but I do think my skills are improving…

Ongoing papercutting project. For a change I’m actually quite pleased with the cutting of this one.

Papercutting skills quest. This one looks like it’s got some sneaky sharks hidden in it.

Ongoing papercutting project. (This one looks a bit like a hop vine?)

Papercutting project. Swirly corner frame design.

Ongoing papercutting project by LaserSister (Kay Vincent). Roses and leaves.
