922 Decorative Vector Ornaments: Papercut 049

Decorative Vector Ornaments: Paper cut 049

49th day of this papercutting project (cutting a design a day for 100 days, from the “922 Decorative Vector Ornaments” book, in preparation for incorporating them in future papercuts that are made by laser and also by hand.)

Up close this one definitely looks like it needs a few more tweaks, but it will be nice when it’s properly finished:

Wow – I’m already on Day 47 of this project (cutting a design a day for 100 days, from the “922 Decorative Vector Ornaments” book, in preparation for incorporating them in future papercuts that are made by laser and also by hand.)

The shadows make this one look wonkier than it is in real life (honest!)

Day 46 of this project (cutting a design a day for 100 days, from the “922 Decorative Vector Ornaments” book, in preparation for incorporating them in future papercuts that are made by laser and also by hand.)

Wow, this one felt so much different to yesterday’s papercut, when I was using a fairly blunt blade and really fighting with the paper and accidentally ripping it, etc. Today the new blade made the cutting so much easier and more precise, and definitely more enjoyable and less sweary.

Decorative Vector Ornaments: Paper cut 045

Day 45 of this project (cutting a design a day for 100 days, from the “922 Decorative Vector Ornaments” book, in preparation for incorporating them in future papercuts that are made by laser and also by hand.)

This one looks OK from a distance…

…but on closer inspection I ripped a few of the really fine lines. Serves me right – I was using a really blunt blade that I hadn’t been bothered to change, and so it ended up more like carving the design than cutting it. Must get a new blade for the next one.
