Decorative Vector Ornaments: Paper cut 035, 036 037
Waaaah – I went away over the weekend to a writers’ conference, and although I remembered to take my scalpel and scissors and paper, I forgot to take my phone or camera, so couldn’t upload photos of the latest pieces in my current project (cutting a design a day for 100 days, from the “922 Decorative Vector Ornaments” book).
So a little belatedly, here are cuts 35 and 36, plus 37:
I actually love this one! It’s very tricky to cut, but very satisfying.
This one’s OK. It’s a bit more unusual in the design:
I actually 100% like this one! It’s quite an elegant-looking Art Nouveau style design, and I can see myself incorporating this into papercuts in the future.
Actually, even though the jagged bits sort of leap out at me (especially on that end curve bit), I still like this piece. Because I’ve realised that if I made it with the laser cutter then yeah, it would have been perfectly smooth, but it’s actually the little mistakes and jagged bits that show that a real live human being has created this piece:
